Behind The Rind provides curated private and public events to make artisanal cheese more accessible and approachable. Our goal is to empower attendees with knowledge to appreciate and support the artisanal cheese market while expanding their palates, bringing participants out of their comfort zones and most importantly, having a fun and memorable experience. Who is Behind The Rind?
Colleen Vidockler
Colleen is a curd nerd whose love for eating cheese is only matched by her love for talking about it and sharing that love with others. Behind The Rind grew naturally, much like cheese rinds 😊, from her love of cheese, experiences learning and volunteering at Murray’s Cheese Shop in NYC, and the pure joy she takes in talking about it to anyone who will listen. Family and friends quickly started asking her to bring the cheese plate to parties and to explain what was chosen and why. It was an easy step to being asked to plan cheese nights with pairings for small groups. While many years in the making, Behind The Rind officially launched in the fall of 2019 hosting pairing classes with local cideries, cocktail bars, and breweries.
